The regional Guaranteed Ride Home program is offered by Metro Transit, a service of the Metropolitan Council
Guaranteed Ride Home provides an unscheduled ride home for commuters who take the bus or train, carpool, vanpool, walk or bike to work or school at least three times a week. To be eligible, you must register with Metro Transit and be at least 18 years old.
Guaranteed Ride Home cannot be used for personal errands, appointments, business-related travel, fees or fares for prescheduled travel or non-emergency/personal trips.
You are eligible for up to four reimbursement requests or up to $100 in reimbursements in one year. Reimbursement for bus or train rides in the Twin Cities will be uploaded to the Go-To Card used to pay for the fare. Taxi fares will be reimbursed by check. You must print a copy of your reimbursement request and submit a signed and dated original receipt from the taxi company that gave you the ride.
Reimbursement requests must be submitted within 10 days of your Guaranteed Ride Home – late submissions will be declined. All reimbursements are subject to approval by Metro Transit staff. Reimbursements requests are not transferrable.
